Johannesburg - A 31-year-old woman was caught driving at 202km/h on the N3 south near Vosloorus on Sunday morning, Ekurhuleni metro police said.
The driver had been travelling at "breakneck" speed, and claimed to metro officers that she was rushing to a church service in Vosloorus.
"She was en route to church at an unholy 202km/h in a Mercedes-Benz C-Class," Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said.
"The woman refused to say what church she was flying to," he added.
She was charged with reckless and negligent driving and was expected to appear in court soon.
Meanwhile, on the R21 at the 563 bridge in Olifantsfontein, 10 drivers were arrested for driving between 162km/h and 180km/h in a 120km/h zone on Sunday morning between 05:45 and 08:47.
"Two drivers were clocked at 180km/h claiming they were late for appointments. The rest of the arrestees clocked speeds of between 175km/h and 162km/h," he said.
All 10 drivers were locked up at Olifantsfontein police station and are expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court soon to face charges of reckless and negligent driving.
