"Manqele then said, 'Sorry I have done something wrong. I stabbed him by mistake'. By that time Flabba was screaming and saying, 'F**k, this b***h has just stabbed me'," said the officer.

These were the last words from hip-hop artist Flabba as he screamed for help after his girlfriend Sindisiwe Manqele allegedly plunged a kitchen knife into his heart.

As Flabba, real name Nkululeko Habedi, was taking his last breath, Manqele who was crying hysterically, placed her hand on his chest and asked him not to "leave me".

"Babe, please don't leave me. I love you and I'm sorry for what I have done," she allegedly said.

Two law enforcement agents, who did not want to be named as they were not authorised to speak to the media, said that Manqele told police at the scene that she slapped Flabba at The Sand in Sandton after accusing him of flirting with his unknown ex-girlfriend.

The first cop said Manqele got incensed when she saw Flabba constantly taking a break to talk to the woman. She then confronted him and asked him why he disrespected her by getting cosy with his ex-girlfriend in her presence.

"The two argued over this and she slapped him," said the officer.

Another officer said that the two drove home in a friend's car where another argument erupted.

Flabba then allegedly laid it on her with hot klaps. When the friend dropped them off, Manqele ran out first and locked Flabba out of his backyard cottage.

She told the cops that Flabba beat her up after asking her why she did not open the door for him. This because she did not hear when he was knocking on the door and took time to open.

"She told the cops when questioned at the cottage that she stabbed him by mistake with the knife during a scuffle. But when they asked her where she got the knife from she kept quiet.

"When she was asked again she broke a beer bottle and started to cut herself. We are surprised that she now wants to plead self-defence," said the cop.

The officer said although Manqele and Flabba were the only ones who knew what happened in the cottage, she should not use the wounds to her hands to prove self- defence.

"We will demolish her defence because our guys saw her cutting herself," said the officer.

The officer said the witnesses on the charge sheet confirmed Flabba banged on the window and knocked several times after Manqele refused to open the door for him.

"When they arrived home, Manqele jumped out of the car and greeted Flabba's relatives who were sitting outside the yard. She just said 'hello' and then walked straight into the cottage and locked the door. She appeared to be angry," said the officer.

Flabba stayed outside chatting and joking with his relatives.

"When they asked him what happened, he told them that they had some misunderstandings and would resolve them," said officer.

The musician then walked to the the cottage and tried in vain to open the door because Manqele had locked it.

"He knocked several times and said, 'Babe please open the door for me'. But she did not open it," said the cop.

Flabba then walked back to his relatives and asked them for a cigarette which he smoked while chatting with them.

"He then walked back to the door and knocked again, begging Manqele to open for him.

"This angered Flabba and he started banging on the window and then she opened.

"A fierce argument erupted inside. The two started fighting and Manqele stabbed him. Manqele then hit a wardrobe, which was standing close to the door, with her shoulder and fell to the ground," he said.

Flabba's relatives rushed to help her as they thought she was wounded by the rapper.

"She then said, 'Sorry I have done something wrong. I stabbed him by mistake'. By that time Flabba was screaming and saying, 'F@#k, this bitch has just stabbed me'," said the officer. He was certified dead at the scene of the crime.
